Pre-captured carbon offsets are carbon credits that have been generated from emission reduction projects that have already taken place. These projects may include renewable energy initiatives, reforestation efforts, or other activities that result in the permanent removal or reduction of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
Pre-Captured Carbon Offset Certificate
Pre-captured carbon offsets are different from offsets that are generated through the implementation of future emission reduction projects, which are known as “retrospective” offsets. Pre-captured offsets allow individuals and businesses to offset their carbon emissions by purchasing credits that represent past emission reduction efforts, rather than funding projects that will take place in the future.
